I’d support either choice just hope Walsh and Hugo can still get meaningful minutes because they can help take the load off Jt and jb defensively, but I know minutes for the wings would be limited with both the jays with Walsh,Hugo, hauser also looking for minutes.

Tatum seems comfortable just airing his thoughts. We all have doubts about stuff, and for him I am sure he has doubts about what to do, since it's not at all obvious for a variety of reasons. Doesn't mean he has changed his mind, as some of the breathless reports are suggesting. Just means it's still more complicated than picking a day in March and saying "let's go!"

I'd agree there. And in some ways, playing out the decision in public makes sense, as it shows he's committed to doing what's best for the team, as well as himself. I'd still prefer he sits, but if he comes back, I can't wait to see his first big night

Not saying you are defending this but the Tatum vs Brown 'who's better' discussion and whether you have to 'choose' who's the first guy... Isn't that a false choice?

If we had a 3rd guy who is as good as those two, say Porzingis (and when he was healthy, you could make an argument he was as good at times), why is that a problem? Isn't it better? Isn't the role of the coaching team and those two guys as leaders of this team to figure the thing out and be better?

I totally agree here. And it’s something I’ve never understood. Like I get having a favourite out of the 2 (or 3 in this scenario) and I get that there will always be the need for division within the local market (to create clicks) — but in reality, you need them both. I’m not a fan of choosing a side, but I do think when it gets noisy, it can play a destabilising role

And I say this as someone who leans Tatum in these discussions, so I’m aware of a slight hypocrisy
