Adam, I appreciate the openness with which you share your journey. And as a Substack user, I do understand that it has changed as it has grown. I am also a writer, and have toyed with writing a newsletter -- not sports, but about a book I am working on regarding the history of humans and song, among other things -- and I also have looked into Ghost, which was frankly beyond my skills and patience though I appreciate what it does offer. What I am failing to understand is your repeated assertion that Substack has become nothing more than another social network. As a reader, I still find Substack an incredible rich trove. I had to cut back on my paid subscriptions simply because I didn't have the time or attention to read them all, but it's still an incredible venue for discovery, and that's partly due to its network nature. I also limit the time I spend on networks such as Instagram and Facebook, but if indeed Substack is a social network, it certainly is of a much higher and less soul-sucking nature. There is a bunch of great writing occurring on Substack and a bunch of great writers, such as yourself, who have found bigger audiences here. I think it's all too easy to assign a category to something and be done with thinking about it. I'd just gently warn you to not fall prey to that. thanks for your work, and your thoughtfulness. Mark
